Di luar penghargaan Best New Artist Grammy Awards 2010, yang diperuntukkan bagi artis-artis musik baru dan diraih oleh Zac Brown Band, akhirnya penghargaan untuk tiga kategori umum lain yang utama dalam Grammys 2010, jatuh ke tangan Beyonce, Taylor Swift, dan Kings Of Leon.
Swift unggul dalam kategori Album of The Year, dengan albumnya yang berjudul “Fearless”. Dia mengalahkan Beyonce, The Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga dan Dave Matthews Band. Sebelumnya, Beyonce menggondol penghargaan Song of The Year dengan lagu “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)”, dan Kings of Leon merebut penghargaan Record of The Year dengan lagu “Use Somebody”. Meskipun gak jadi mendominasi perolehan penghargaan dalam tiga kategori umum yang utama itu, dan gak berhasil menggenggam 10 penghargaan yang dinominasikan untuknya dalam Grammys 2010, secara keseluruhan Beyonce membawa pulang 6 penghargaan. Dengan kemenangannya tersebut, Beyonce berhasil mengukuhkan namanya sebagai penyanyi perempuan yang memborong penghargaan terbanyak dalam satu Grammys, sepanjang sejarah Grammys yang sudah 52 tahun. Sebelumnya, di tahun 2004, dia meraih 5 penghargaan Grammy.
